The EKI Foundation receives an Honorary Mention in the III Iberdrola Awards for International Energy Cooperation

On November 6, the EKI Foundaion received a special mention in the III Iberdrola Awards for International Energy Cooperation, convened by Iberdrola and the Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad.

The honorary mention in the thrid sector (NGO´s, foundations, etc.) was presented to the President of the EKI Board Jose Galíndez by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation, Latin America and the Caribbean, Juan Pablo de Laiglesia, and the president of Iberdrola, Ignacio Sánchez Galán. Also present were the director of the AECID Aina Calvo, and the general secretary of the Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad, Juan Alfaro.

Ferrovial received the Private Sector category award for large business and SMEs. The  Technological Institute of the Canary Islands received the Public Sector award; for Administration and Public Companies. "La Caixa" received the Third Sector category award for non-profit and non-governmental organizations.

The Iberdrola Awards for International Energy Cooperation aim to highlight the most outstanding initiatives carried out by companies, public administrations and NGO's that demonstrate an active commitment to the universalization of energy. All this, contributing to the consolidation of the Sustainable Development Goal 7 of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations and, in particular, to goal 7.1 that pursues universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy services.
