St. John of God Health Center

The St. John of God Health Center in Yassa, Cameroon, was founded in 2014 by the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, which has been present in the country since 1968. The center serves about 36,000 patients annually, and has a consultation building, a rehabilitation unit, and an operating and hospitalization area.

Continuous power outages in Cameroon make the center's day-to-day operations very difficult; medical equipment and the operating room become unusable during outages, and they are also unable to have a reliable water supply or to adequately refrigerate vaccines and medicines.
