Mwela Lembwa General Hospital DRC

The Mwela Lembwa General Hospital in the Kwango province of the D.R. Congo is located in a very rural environment with no connection to the electricity grid. The hospital had great difficulties in carrying out its activities due to frequent problems with the generator set and lack of diesel fuel. As a result, the hospital was operating on a daily basis without power and light.

The health office of the Popokabaka Diocese requested our help to solve the power supply problem at the hospital. The health office of the Diocese knows EKI from other solar systems installed in health centers and hospitals in the area.

  • NGO: Mwela Lembwa General Hospital

Thanks to the solar system, the hospital can now count on a safe and reliable power supply to ensure the hospital's lighting and operation. The system also provides light to the hospital staff residences, which allows the hospital to provide better accomadation for the staff and therefore have more incentive to retain well trained personnel providing a better service to the community.
