Manresa Kimwenze is a Jesuit work located on the Kimwenza, in the south-western suburb of the city of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In a privileged space of calm and renewal, the Centre offers retreats, recollections, spiritual accompaniment, sessions, and other formation programmes. The Centre was founded in 1958.

The centre suffered from frequent and prolonged power cuts from the Kinshasa power grid. This made it very difficult to operate and cost a lot of diesel fuel for the generator set.
