In collaboration with the NGO Zabalketa, we have finished the project of providing lighting for the boarding school of Chichayoc. It consists of simple kits that have three light bulbs and a usb charger that are powered with a battery and solar panel. This way the students have lighting during the night which they didn´t previously have. Two autonomous streetlights (equipped with a panel and battery) were also installed to provide nocturnal security and lighting.

Previous situation;  The school of Chichayoc, located in the Bolivian Andes at 3,000 meters altitude, is attended by boys and girls from the surrounding villages, some of which are very far away. Therefore some students stay to sleep at the boarding school, both the boarding school and classrooms lacked lighting.

Now, thanks to the installed solar system, students have lighting, with the advantages that this implies, in terms of safety and use of time, since they now enjoy lighting to study and play.

In short, the education of the students has experienced an important improvement, which will help them to prepare better and avoid premature abandonment of the school, as this improves their conditions.
