Rogbere project, Sierra Leone

A Call to Business, a British organisation based in Sierra Leone, is dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs. They also run a social centre in Rogbere, which includes the Ro Seleneh Home, an orphanage for children with cerebral palsy or polio, a school, housing for the disabled and a football academy. Previously, this centre was isolated from the electricity grid and relied on a diesel generator for just 6 hours of electricity per day. The Rogbere project commenced on 24 May. Since then, EKI has installed a three-phase (30KVA) system with 60 solar panels to provide electricity 24 hours a day. This installation was made possible by the work of volunteer Ignacio López from Mott McDonald.
